Uganda to Kenya
Forests, then the Mara
Gorillas and chimps, then open plains — a two-country journey with a clear change of light.
Forests, then the Mara: gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda, then open plains in Kenya. The point is the change of light — canopy to grassland — in one private journey with a connection we protect, not a stressful airport day.
Uganda is home. We begin there, walk the forests properly, then hop to Nairobi and the conservancy. Ten days is the honest length. Shorter versions drop Kibale or a Mara night; we will not drop rest.
Two countries, one team
Guiding, vehicles, and selected stays on both sides. Tell us whether the Mara should be migration-minded or a quieter conservancy chapter, and whether photography or a first safari should set the pace in Kenya.
International arrivals can start in either country. We write the proposal around your actual flights.
Day by day
-
Day 1
Arrive Entebbe
Rest after the long flight. We do not put you on the southwest road until you can enjoy it.
-
Day 2
Toward Bwindi
Travel into gorilla country with a proper pause. Lodge by last light.
-
Day 3
Gorilla trek
Bwindi briefing, walk, and a regulated hour. Evening above the canopy.
-
Day 4
Kibale
Leave the high forest for chimpanzee country.
-
Day 5
Chimpanzees
A vocal morning with a habituated community. Afternoon at an easier pace.
-
Day 6
Entebbe and Nairobi
Return to Entebbe and the hop to Kenya. We protect the connection so this is not a stressful day.
-
Day 7
The Mara
Conservancy arrival and a first drive — open country after days of forest.
-
Day 8
Plains
A full safari day. Private vehicle, cats and light.
-
Day 9
Plains, again
Second full day so the change of landscape has time to settle.
-
Day 10
Nairobi and depart
Fly to Nairobi. International departures are timed with a buffer, not a prayer.

Practical information
This journey can be shortened, extended, or combined with another country. Gorilla permits, conservancy fees, and crater rules change; we confirm the current picture in your proposal before you pay a deposit.
Tell us about fitness, children, photography, and whether you want more forest or more plains. We would rather adjust the outline than surprise you on the ground.
