Queen Elizabeth stretches from the Rwenzori foothills to the Kazinga Channel. Hippo, elephant, kob, and a remarkable bird list sit alongside the chance of tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. A boat on the channel is often the finest hour of the park.
We treat the north and south as different chapters. If tree-climbing lions matter, we place you in Ishasha with enough game-drive time — not a lunchtime dash.
Why here
This is the classic wildlife counterpart to Bwindi: savannah and water after the forest, without leaving Uganda.
Practical information
Two or three nights is the honest minimum. The channel boat should be booked with a private or small-group option when we can. Distances inside the park are larger than they look on a map.
